Abstract Submissions

 

Submission Deadline: Tuesday, November 15, 2011

Abstract submissions are based on scientific research and are limited to 300 words.  The presenting author should submit the abstract on behalf of his/her research team.  If accepted, the abstract will be selected for either a poster or oral presentation at the Congress and will be published in Congress proceedings and online in BioMedCentral.  Oral abstract sessions will be comprised of top scored abstracts.  All presenters of accepted abstracts must be registered for the Congress by March 16, 2012.

Guidelines and Procedures

 

  • An * means the designated field is required.
  • You must register for the Congress by March 16, 2012 for your abstract to be published in the 2012 program book and online.
  • The presenting author’s email address will be published in the 2012 program book.
  • Two abstract submissions are included in your registration fee. Additional submissions incur a fee of $25 USD.
  • The deadline to submit an abstract is November 15, 2011.
  • Acknowledgement of receipt of the abstract will be sent to the submitting author's email upon completion of submission.
  • You must indicate whether or not you wish to have your abstract considered for an oral presentation.
  • An international panel of academic experts will review all abstracts. Reviewers will be blinded to the authors and their institutions during the selection process.
  • The Congress organizers reserve the right to determine whether a submission will be accepted and the form of presentation, either poster or oral. Only those abstracts judged to be of high quality and relevance will be accepted.
  • The Organizing Committee plans to notify the presenting authors of acceptance and form of presentation by the end of February.
  • If a commercial product was tested or commercial/industrial support was provided for the project, you must provide details in the permission section of the submission form.

Submission Format

All abstracts must be submitted using the designated fields: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion. Abstracts are limited to a total of 300 words. Do not include section titles (Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion) in the abstract text as the section titles will be automatically inserted during the production of the abstract book.  Submitters may copy and paste their submissions from a Word document into the fields provided.  You may login to your abstract submission account at anytime during the submission period to modify an existing abstract or submit a new one.

Acceptance of Abstracts

 

 

All accepted abstracts will be published in Congress proceedings and online in BioMed Central.

 

Compliance with all stated conditions including adherence to the deadline is required. Acknowledgement of receipt of completed abstracts will be sent via email upon submission.  Presenting authors must register no later than March 16, 2012 for their abstract to be published in the conference materials and included in the conference agenda. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to determine acceptance of an abstract and the right to determine the presentation form.  Individuals submitting abstracts agree that if their abstract is accepted, they will attend the meeting and present their abstract as scheduled. The presenting author should be prepared to answer substantive questions about all aspects of the data.  Once an abstract has been accepted and scheduled for presentation, it cannot be withdrawn. Authors consent to abstract publication in conference materials.
